Mitsubishi Electric Championship Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Hualalai in 2026
KA’UPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii – The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will celebrate its 30th anniversary of playing at Hualalai Golf Course in 2026 when PGA TOUR Champions visits the Island of Hawaii, January 22-24. Tickets for the Champions Tour’s season-opening event are on sale at MECgolf.com.
“It is truly special to be able to celebrate 30 years of PGA TOUR Champions coming to Hualalai,” said Tournament Manager Kelly Fliear. “We have had so many great memories over the last three decades and look forward to creating more memories in 2026 and beyond. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time for the 2026 event to reserve their spot today and watch legends of the game walk the fairways of Hualalai.”
Defending champion Ernie Els leads a contingent of six World Golf Hall of Fame members in the 2026 field. Fellow Hall of Famers in the 42-player field include three-time champion (2009, 2014, 2017) Bernhard Langer, four-time runner-up Fred Couples, Retief Goosen, Davis Love III and Vijay Singh.
Reigning Charles Schwab Cup winner Stewart Cink will make his third appearance at Hualalai after a pair of top-10 finishes during his first two starts. 2024 tournament champion Steven Alker, winner of two Charles Schwab Cups (2022, 2024), opens his 2026 season in Hawaii after finishing No. 2 in the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup race. Steve Stricker, who won both the Mitsubishi Electric Championship and Charles Schwab Cup in 2023, will make his first official start since mid-June 2025 when he tees it up at Hualalai in January.
Three-time tournament champion (2015, 2020, 2022) Miguel Angel Jiménez, who finished No. 3 in the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup standings, looks to continue his momentum from a season-high four-win campaign in 2025. Other notables in the 42-player field include major champions David Duval, Jim Furyk, Justin Leonard, Mike Weir and 2021 tournament winner Darren Clarke.
For the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, fans can purchase a daily ticket for $35 or a three-round competition pass for $70 by visiting MECgolf.com. Kids ages 18 and under get in for free with a ticketed adult. The gates will open at 9 a.m., each day.
Upon entering the resort, please follow the spectator parking directional signage for free parking. During each of the competition days, free spectator shuttles will continuously loop until 6 p.m., between the parking area and Spectator Village.
Spectator Village is a centrally located area where fans will have access to concessions, seating, restrooms and new food trucks for this year. It will also have a live scoreboard and be in close proximity to Holes 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 14 and 15-18.
All three rounds of the 2026 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will be televised live on Golf Channel, January 22-24.
