PGA TOUR Champions Opens 2024 Season at Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai

KA’UPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii – For the 28th consecutive year, PGA TOUR Champions will begin its season at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, with tournament rounds scheduled for January 18-20.

“One of the great traditions on PGA TOUR Champions is starting each year on the Island of Hawaii at this one-of-a-kind setting,” said PGA TOUR Champions President Miller Brady. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Mitsubishi Electric as we kick off the 2024 season and look forward to returning to the Four Seasons Hualalai to begin what promises to be a tremendous year on PGA TOUR Champions.”

Forty-two legends of the game will tee it up at Hualalai Golf Course in Ka'upulehu-Kona on the Island of Hawaii, including six past champions. Last year, Steve Stricker captured the first of his six wins, beginning a record-breaking season that culminated in winning Charles Schwab Cup. During the 2023 Mitsubishi Electric Championship, he recorded the low 18-hole score (60) and low 54-hole score (193) of the season by any player on PGA TOUR Champions.

Three-time winners of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship Bernhard Langer (2009, 2014, 2017) and Miguel Ángel Jiménez (2015, 2020, 2022) will join Stricker in Hawaii. Langer, the 66-year-old World Golf Hall of Fame member, set the PGA TOUR Champions all-time wins record in 2023 by capturing his 46th overall victory on the Tour. Other past champions in the 2024 field are Jerry Kelly (2018), Tom Lehman (2019) and Darren Clarke (2021).

Tickets for the 2024 event – which are cashless only – will be available at the gate, which opens at 9 a.m., each day. Fans can purchase a daily ticket for $30 or a three-round competition pass for $50. Kids ages 16 and under get in for free with a ticketed adult. Upon entering the resort, please follow the spectator parking directional signage for free parking. Spectators are not allowed to bring backpacks or personal coolers through the gate.

During each of the competition days, free spectator shuttles will continuously loop between the parking area and Spectator Village from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Spectator Village is a centrally located area where fans will have access to concessions, seating, restrooms and plenty of Aloha spirit. It will also have a live scoreboard and be in close proximity to more than half of the holes on the course.

“We encourage everyone to join us in watching these legends showcase their skills at the pristine Hualalai Golf Course from January 18-20,” said Tournament Manager Kelly Fliear. “We are thrilled to welcome Hall of Famers, major champions and other greats of the game to this beautiful venue for the 28th consecutive year!”

All three rounds of the 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will be televised live on GOLF Channel, January 18-20.
